Falafel King Mediterranean Café
The first Falafel King was opened in Boulder in 1980. It is located at 1314 Pearl Street on Pearl Street Mall just across from the Boulder Court House. This place is thirty-six years old and is still up and running and making delicious food. The motives of Falafel King’s owners are to make healthy and delicious organic food with the freshest ingredients. Their promise is “to (give) every customer the most delicious, healthy and satisfying dining experience possible”. We agree that they certainly fulfilled this promise…..and more!

OUR DINING EXPERIENCE
We grew up in Boulder, cruising down the Pearl Street Mall just like any other kid from this area does on a regular basis. We have probably passed Falafel King nothing short of a million times. We have stopped by to snag a few samples that they gave away outside the door (and thought they where really good!), but we never have had the chance to go in. Well our time is now....
We picked this restaurant because we thought kids would be a little hesitant to try it out. This restaurant serves Mediterranean food, and the thought of that might discourage some kids. Kids who have not experienced this type of food might be wary, but it’s totally worth the risk. It’s a whole new world of flavor! We went in there and tried most of the food and discovered how good it really was. Kids will be pleasantly surprised with the variety of the delicious menu options. We encourage kids to select some new things they may not want to try. We will guide kids towards some of our favorites.
As we sat with our clipboards and spread sheets taking notes, we attracted a bit of attention. We may have looked like secret agents with the health department who were working undercover, but actually we were just writing about the restaurant for this blog. We were lucky to have one of the co-owners, Avner, check in on us while we were eating. He was super nice and told us some information about the restaurant. He also made our teacher Linda some Turkish coffee, as you see in the photo above. She loved it! Now she's hooked. Too bad we aren't old enough to drink coffee.
